John Macwell’s _Be a People Person_ is a good book to help train leaders on how to handle their relationships. John Maxwell elucidates that one of the characteristics of a leader is being “people-oriented”. So, in this book, he teaches the reader how to develop this trait in their life. This book helps the reader to develop the qualities of an effective leader, understand and help people with difficult personalities, and inspire others.

Through these chapters, Maxwell teaches how to feel comfortable with people and how to become a person that people will want to follow. He also shows the secret discovered when we invest in the lives of other people including loving problematic people and managing criticism sometimes. In each situation, Maxwell gives ideas so that the person who reads can be confident of achievement.
Many action steps are given by the author with the reassurance that if they are followed the reader can achieve his or her goal of becoming a people person.
Furthermore, each chapter ends with a section called “Put It to Work”. In this section, he summarizes “people principles” discussed in the chapter and gives an assignment so that the reader can put the principles into practice.
