LABARINA  "Reflecting on Leadership: Why People Follow As I hosted a leadership summit, I pondered why people would take the time to attend. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the school gate to the venue, so what motivates them to make the effort? I drew inspiration from John C Maxwell's five levels of leadership. Starting from the first level - position - I realized I had initially taken this for granted. However, it was the subsequent levels that truly resonated with me: relationship and production. People attended the summit because of our relationships and the value I had demonstrated through my actions. They saw the impact I had made and wanted to learn from my experiences. This simple yet profound advice resonated deeply with me and has stayed with me ever since. It's a reminder that many of us often embark on journeys without considering whether we have the capacity to see them through to the end. This isn't about being afraid to take risks or try new things. Rather, it's about being mindful of our limitations and making informed decisions. Before starting something, ask yourself: - Have I thought this through? - Do I have a clear vision of where I'm headed? - Have I planned wisely? What struck me was his emphasis on 'miracle money' and encouraging people to transfer funds or give offerings in exchange for blessings. He even promised to bring more 'miracle money' the next day. I was taken aback that people were actually falling for this in today's civilized world. It's one thing to see such tactics on media, but witnessing it firsthand was alarming. This pastor's actions will likely lead people astray, causing them to question the authenticity of Christianity. The burden is that people are being deceived and may eventually blame Christianity as a whole for the actions of a few.
