GET ON YOUR KNEEL
Having dated for a while and due to the pressure from church and parents, Ochuko decided to do the right thing. He resolved to officially tie the knot with Kevwe. He planned to take her by surprise and sure did when he proposed to her in the bedroom. Although surprised, Kevwe put up an act. She paused the whole event and told Ochuko to stand on his feet. Shocked and surprised, Ochuko (assisted by Kevwe) carefully stood on his feet and was accompanied outside by Kevwe(walking hand in hand) as they descended the stairs to the open space in the compound. Kevwe quickly called for the gateman, gave him her phone, and asked him to do a video of what was about to take place.
“After dating me for years you want to propose to me in secret? It is not possible. The world must see this. Oya go down on your knees and repeat the scene you acted upstairs”, Kevwe jokingly commanded Ochuko.
With a smile on his face, Ochuko went on his knees and the moment he was about to propose, his friend walked in through the gate.
“Eh, Iyeme Ochuko! Wetin you dey do so? Kevwe you too strong. You dey punish man”, claimed Ese Ochuko's friend.
“You blind?”, asked Ochuko. “This one be like punishment for your eyes?”
“But you knee down na”, Ese claimed.
“Yes! But na every kneeling down be punishment?”, asked Ochuko.
“I dey propose to Kevwe, I wan marry am”, Ochuko added.
“Ah! Sorry no vex”, Ese apologized.
“You don finally get sense. Let me also video and capture this moment”.
“See pot dey call kettle black. You better stop fornicating and settle down”, Ockuko advised Ese firmly.
“Na you know”, Ese answered.
Flipping through his phone, Ese mistakenly played a video of a preacher talking about marriage.
“Where in the Bible have you seen a king kneeling down to propose to a queen? Or a man kneeling down to propose to a woman. Western culture has destroyed us”.
Four of them took a pause, then looked at each other in amazement, and before they knew it, Ochuko was already on his feet.
