LABARINA - MERCY CHINWO PERFORMANCE ON NIGERIAN IDOL - ZOMBIE
"My mom saw the picture I tagged to message of myself performing a circular song I sang many years ago in Warri. She related it to a video of Mercy Chinwo performing 'Zombie' on Nigerian Idol, where Femi Kuti was in attendance. I noted that it's a good thing he didn't sign her, as Mercy's energy and stage presence were superb, and we would have missed out on many gospel songs if she had been signed. While it's true that God can raise up others, Mercy Chinwo has her own unique gift and no one can replace her. Everyone has a replacement, but no one can ever be you. We're suffering today because of the wrong choices made by many people, just like in the Bible where Satan rose against Israel and led David to number the people, resulting in many deaths (1 Chronicles 21:1-14). As it is written, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Let's make wise choices and embrace our individuality."
