LABARINA - THE OLYMPICS

LABARINA

"A Reflection on Faith and Respect

I recently came across a post about Pastor E.A. Adeboye's story about his daughter in the Lord, who was asked to falsify figures for a road contract and declined. Unfortunately, the post was misquoted, and people in the comment section began cursing and accusing Pastor Adeboye of lying. I felt angry and disheartened by their disrespect.

As I scrolled through another comment section, I saw a heartwarming story about parents who cared for their premature child, and the child grew up to be healthy and strong. However, some people attributed the child's recovery to medicine and the parents' efforts alone, dismissing God's role in their lives.

Ironically, I had just watched the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics in Paris, which seemed to promote a message contrary to God's values. It was disheartening to see the world uniting around a message that contradicts Godly values .

In that moment, I realized that I was more bothered by the insults directed at Pastor Adeboye, a man of God, than the disrespect towards God Himself. It struck me that I should be more pained by people's insults towards God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

This experience made me reflect on my own faith and values. I pray that God will help our generation to reverence Him and respect His servants. May we prioritize honoring God above all else."
