"Do you have a conscience that pricks you when you feel guilty about something you did wrong? I agree with someone who said pain is a gift. They explained that without pain, a person might not feel when they're hurt, leading to further damage and potentially life-threatening consequences. This makes sense, as pain serves as a warning signal to take action.
Similarly, a guilty conscience serves as a moral warning signal, prompting us to repent and make amends for our wrongdoings. As the Bible says, "The wicked put on a bold face, but the upright give thought to their ways" (Proverbs 21:29). If we don't feel remorse for our actions, our heart may become seared like a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:2), making us dangerous to ourselves and others.
Let's not be like the person Kenneth Hagin described, who drinks hot tea from the fire without getting burned.
