ISN'T IT TOO EARLY?

FADE IN:

INT. RECEPTION HALL - EVENING

Sade and Ronke, two friends, converse amidst the celebration.

RONKE
Is it not too early? You've only known him three weeks.

SADE
(confidently)
Not at all. We love each other, and that's all that matters.

RONKE
(skeptical)
But you just met three weeks ago.

SADE
(naively)
It doesn't matter. We'll learn the rest when we get married.

CUT TO:

EXT. OUTSIDE RECEPTION HALL - EVENING

Sade shows off her ring to a group of ladies while heading to the car with her husband.

SADE
(triumphantly)
I told you haters I was going to get married this year, and I proved you wrong!

RONKE
(interrupting)
Sade, let's go. It's your wedding day; stop causing trouble.

CUT TO:

INT. BEDROOM - EVENING (ONE WEEK LATER)

Sade tearfully confides in Ronke.

SADE
(desperate)
I didn't know he was like this.

RONKE
(calmly)
It's okay. You'll have to bear it; it's for better or worse.

SADE
(distraught)
No, I can't take this. I can't continue with this.

RONKE
(firmly)
But your marriage is just a week old. And besides, I warned you, but you said you'd learn more about him in marriage. Love is blind they say, but marriage opens your eyes.

SADE
(regretfully)
Love wasn't my motivation for this marriage. I wanted to prove those ladies wrong.

RONKE
(stunned)
My goodness! How could you use your destiny to prove something to someone? That was very risky.

(Sade looks out the window, seeing her husband's car pull up.)

SADE
(nervously)
He's back. You should be on your way now.

RONKE
(concerned)
Why? Apart from beating and caging you, he doesn't allow you to have visitors either?

SADE
(tearfully)
Yes... but truthfully, I don't want you to go. Please stay.

FADE OUT.
