LABARINA - TRUE SUBMISSION

LABARINA 

"I recently witnessed a distressing situation involving an elderly lady. She was having a disagreement with the man she was living with, who is not her husband. Although I don't have all the details, it seemed like the man had had enough of their argument and told her to leave his house, even going so far as to bring out her bags and belongings. He also implied that she should leave the small store he had set up for her. It appears they may have resolved their issue since she still lives with him, but what struck me was how he exploited her vulnerability. He had made her completely dependent on him, and then used that power to control her.

It's a sad reality that some men deliberately keep their partners financially dependent to maintain control over them. True loyalty and submission come from a place of empowerment, not desperation. As the Bible says, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." (1 Corinthians 13:4). Even Jesus' sacrifice on the cross demonstrates this principle: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13). True love empowers, rather than enslaves."
