LABARINA - ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

LABARINA - ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

I want to share a personal experience that has been on my mind lately. When I was serving in Gaya, I barely left my community unless it was for church activities. But one day, I went to Kanu town and was struck by the difference in environment. The buildings, the lifestyle - everything was so different from what I was used to in Gaya. It was like I was in bondage, limited by my surroundings.

But when I got to Kanu, I felt a sense of freedom. I realized that our environment can have a profound impact on our lives. Yesterday, I saw a relative who was struggling with the consequences of a poor environment. He was fainting after engaging in sexual intercourse with a drunkard, while I was having an online Bible study.

This experience made me think about the children in my community who are exposed to harmful influences like family fights, cultism, and other vices. If we don't take care, they may fall victim to these negative environmental factors.

But here's the thing: no matter how bad our environment is, we have the power to create a positive space for ourselves. We can choose not to get comfortable with the status quo and instead, create a niche for ourselves in the wilderness. Let's strive to rise above our circumstances and create a better life for ourselves and those around us. May the Lord help us in Jesus' name. Amen."
