A Mother's Honest Opinion: A Deal-Breaker
A Mother's Honest Opinion: A Deal Breaker
[Setting: A lady and her proposed fiancé are having a conversation]
Fiancé: "I have to be honest with you, after meeting your mom, I've decided to call off the engagement."
Lady: "What? I don't understand! My mom is the nicest person on earth!"
Fiancé: "That's exactly why I'm cancelling the engagement. She's so nice, and it's unfortunate that she has someone like you as her daughter."
Lady: "What did she tell you?"
Fiancé: "She told me everything about you - how mean you are. I sensed it, but I wanted to confirm. She advised me that if I went ahead with the marriage, I'd need a lot of patience, and to be honest, I don't think I can afford that luxury."
Lady: "How dare you! I can't believe what I'm hearing! You think you're so perfect, don't you?! I'm going to... I'm going to... Ugh!!" [The lady starts ranting, becoming more and more agitated]
Fiancé: "You're reacting just like your mom said you would. I feel sorry for her, she doesn't deserve a daughter like you." [The fiancé shakes his head and walks away, as the lady continues to rant and eventually comes to her senses, becoming sober]
