LABARINA- WHAT MATTERS MOST

"As I walked around today, I noticed something that has been on my mind for a while now. Parents often prioritize their children's academic education over their moral and spiritual development. I recall learning about an Asian country where children are taught morals and values from a young age, starting at age one, two, or three. In contrast, many parents here focus solely on academics, pushing their children to excel in school but neglecting other essential aspects of their growth.

While it's great to see parents enthusiastic about their children's education, I believe this imbalance can have negative consequences. Children learn from multiple environments - home, school, church, and their social circles - and parents should be involved in all aspects of their lives. It's crucial to strike a balance between academic excellence and moral/spiritual development.

Parents should also be mindful of the company their children keep, the influences they're exposed to, and the values they're taught in school. By prioritizing both academic and moral education, parents can help their children become well-rounded, successful, and positive contributors to society.

As a Christian, I believe it's essential for parents to teach their children Christian morals and values, as these will shape their worldview and guide their decisions. However, many parents seem more focused on their children's academic success than their moral and spiritual growth.

I'm not saying that academic education is unimportant, but rather that it should be balanced with moral and spiritual development. Parents should take an active role in teaching their children values, morals, and Christian principles, ensuring they become responsible, compassionate, and virtuous adults."
