THE NEW APPRENTICE
A woman in her sixties was walking past when she noticed a teenage girl trying to put a napkin on her newborn baby. The girl was doing it incorrectly, which caught the woman's attention. The woman stopped and asked, "Why are you doing it that way?" The girl replied, "I don't know, I'm just trying to do it myself."
The woman was taken aback and looked at the other girls standing nearby. One of them looked heavily pregnant and close to giving birth soon. The woman asked, "What about your friend? Doesn't she know how to do it?" The friend replied, "No, I don't know how to do it either."
The woman walked closer and asked the mother of the child, "What about your parents?" The girl replied, "My dad is dead, and my mom is far away." The woman asked, "What about the father of the child?" The girl replied, "He's already gone to work as a bricklayer somewhere."
The woman shook her head and said, "I pity this child." The girl asked, "Why?" The woman replied, "Giving a job to a new apprentice will end in disaster."
