NA OUR MAMA BE THIS

Community in Uproar: Our Mama
"Na my mama be this," she said, her voice laced with sarcasm, as she mocked the president's wife who had visited a place earlier and was greeted harshly by the people due to the state of the country's economy. But the governor's wife was treated the opposite

As I walked into the community, I stumbled upon a conversation between two women that left me intrigued. They were discussing the state of their neighborhood, describing it as "dirty" and lamenting the lack of progress. One of them mentioned that she used to sleep through the noise and disarray but had since stopped, seemingly driven by a desire for personal gain. The other woman was visibly disgusted by the state of their community.

Little did I know, this conversation was only the tip of the iceberg. Upon returning home, I discovered that the governor's wife was scheduled to visit the community, specifically to meet a woman who had given birth to multiple children. The anticipation was palpable, and it became clear why the women were discussing the community's state earlier.

As I walked back to the church, I noticed people busily preparing for the governor's wife's visit. Women were getting their hair and makeup done, and even my grandmother was making an effort to look presentable. The community was abuzz with activity, with groups of women gathered, chatting, and laughing.

When the governor's wife arrived, she was greeted with fanfare, and the community came together to welcome her. The entourage was impressive, with numerous cars and escorts, and it seemed like the whole community had turned out to catch a glimpse of her.

However, the excitement was short-lived. In the aftermath of her visit, a disturbing incident unfolded. I was told that someone had been given money by the local government chairman to disburse to the youth, but instead, they held back a significant portion of it. Despite inquiries, the individual refused to release the funds.

The situation escalated when the person's younger sister threatened to beat up the boys who had come to collect their money. In a shocking turn of events, the individual was found and beaten, and their brother allegedly stabbed one of the boys with a gun. The community retaliated by destroying the individual's house and seizing their phone, which was reportedly worth almost N1.2 million.

The incident left many questioning how greed could lead to such chaos. The individual was eventually hospitalized but has since been released. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of selfish actions and the importance of accountability in our communities.
