LABARINA - GOODBYES "We were happy to live in Kano, but when it was time to leave, we were excited to move on. However, as someone who is conscious of the people around them, I realized that life doesn't end there. When you arrive at your new destination, you start remembering the good times you had and the people you left behind. It's how life is - we meet, we move on, and we create memories. If you treated people kindly, that's what you'll remember. If you treated them poorly, that's what will linger. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it. LABARINA - UJ (EVERYWHERE GOOD) "I just received a call from my friend UJ in Taraba state a friend I met in Kano, which brought back memories of our time together. It made me think about how some people are meant to be in our lives, and it's not just a coincidence. You may say even if I had applied for relocated, I would have still met other people, but these specific individuals were meant to be part of my journey. It's as if our paths were destined to cross. I realized that it wasn't just luck or chance that brought us together; it was intentional. We should strive to live right with those we meet and create meaningful memories because, in the end, that's what truly matters. My conversation with UJ reminded me of the good times we shared, how we supported each other, and the bond we formed. THE NEW APPRENTICE  A woman in her sixties was walking past when she noticed a teenage girl trying to put a napkin on her newborn baby. The girl was doing it incorrectly, which caught the woman's attention. The woman stopped and asked, "Why are you doing it that way?" The girl replied, "I don't know, I'm just trying to do it myself." The woman was taken aback and looked at the other girls standing nearby. One of them looked heavily pregnant and close to giving birth soon. The woman asked, "What about your friend? Doesn't she know how to do it?" The friend replied, "No, I don't know how to do it either." The woman walked closer and asked the mother of the child, "What about your parents?" The girl replied, "My dad is dead, and my mom is far away." The woman asked, "What about the father of the child?" The girl replied, "He's already gone to work as a bricklayer somewhere."...

POLYGAMOUS PENTECOSTAL PREACHER [Scene: A church service. The preacher is at the podium, enthusiastically preaching.] Preacher: "I'm married to Jesus! Jesus is my lover, my all! I'm sold out to Him!" [Congregation nods in agreement. Months later, the preacher approaches a sister in the same church.] Preacher: "Sister, I want to marry you!" Sister: "Are you single?" Preacher: "Of course!" THE CHURCH SERVICE  [Scene: A church service. The preacher is at the podium, finishing his sermon.] Preacher: "...and so, my dear brothers and sisters, remember that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God!" [Congregation nods in agreement. After the service, the preacher approaches a member who is distributing snacks.] Preacher: [expectantly] Ah, where's mine? Member: [smiling] Pastor, have you forgotten your own message? Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God! We believe you're already filled with the Word, so you don't need bread! [Preacher looks taken aback, then bursts out laughing.] Preacher: [laughing] Oh, you got me there! Well played, my friend!
