POLYGAMOUS PENTECOSTAL PREACHER

[Scene: A church service. The preacher is at the podium, enthusiastically preaching.]

Preacher: "I'm married to Jesus! Jesus is my lover, my all! I'm sold out to Him!"

[Congregation nods in agreement. Months later, the preacher approaches a sister in the same church.]

Preacher: "Sister, I want to marry you!"

Sister: "Are you single?"

Preacher: "Of course!"

Sister: "Are you sure? You said you're married to Jesus..."

Preacher: (laughs) "Well, yes... "

Sister: "Are you planning a polygamous home? Won't Jesus be angry that you want to marry someone else?"

Preacher: "Ah, you got me there! We need to acknowledge our human needs and desires too."

Sister: "Exactly! And maybe Jesus wants you to have a human partner too! Marriage too is spiritual."

Sister: "Yea, but I'm sorry, I'm already engaged."

Preacher: (disappointed) "Oh... To whom?"

Sister: (smiling) "Jesus!"

[Both laugh]
