LABARINA - THE MEAT SHOP A Morning Reflection on Honesty This morning, I witnessed a scene that made me ponder why some people struggle with honesty. Honesty requires patience and responsibility. A lady who had just resumed duty was squatting outside the office because the person in charge of the keys wasn't around. This not only reflected poorly on the company but also discouraged others. The lady might think, 'Since it's this way, I won't come early tomorrow, so I won't waste my time.' However, she may miss an opportunity that might come tomorrow - we never can tell. Perhaps the person with the key decided to come late today because they've been coming early on other days, only to be met with the lackadaisical attitude of others. My point is that we should continue doing the right thing, even when it's challenging, and not give up. We shouldn't do things solely because of potential opportunities, but because it is right. Unfortunately, many organizations neglect this aspect, prioritizing profits over people. Recently, I encountered two disturbing stories that highlighted the consequences of poor HRM. A fast-food restaurant worker was treated poorly by her boss, denied food, and forced to hide to eat. What's more, the worker shared that her boss would often go out to do charity work, yet failed to show compassion to her own employees, who were also in need of support and care. Another individual shared their tedious and demanding job, waking up at 2-3 am to attend to customers without adequate support or recognition from their manager. A young girl in love will do and undo. She's ready to be Romeo, and you be Juliet. At that stage, she will take a bullet until she gets shot and gets hurt. And now she's had enough. A rough life. She's been hurt twice. A single mother of two, guys are not nice, putting the blame on life for her inability to become a wife. Decisions made her, and the bad ones marred her.
