Title: Palm Nut
A woman was busy in the kitchen, preparing a meal for her mother-in-law's visit. As she worked, she was also breaking some palm nuts, a task that required some effort and attention. Her mother-in-law, seemingly impatient, asked her why she was spending so much time on the nuts. The woman explained that she was just trying to get everything ready, but her mother-in-law snapped at her, saying, "I told you to make me some food, and yet you're still breaking those canel nuts! Your life is on canel nuts!"
The woman felt a surge of anger and hurt at her mother-in-law's words. She began to cry, feeling belittled and unappreciated.
But as I reflected on the conversation, I realized two important things. Firstly, she should have placed value on the task she was doing, regardless of what others thought. If she had seen the worth in breaking those nuts, her mother-in-law's words wouldn't have affected her so deeply.
Secondly, she was still living on others opinions for her life. No one has the right to dictate your life or make you feel bad about herself. Her mother-in-law's words were hurtful, but they didn't define her worth or identity. Remember your self-esteem should come from within, and that God's opinion of her is what truly matters.
